Past year programs are NOT RECOMMENDED!! Installing past years programs causes trouble; double clicking on a '.src' file can invoke the wrong year program.
You don't need past year programs because the current year program can:
- Print all past year forms
- Create and handle corrections and originals for all past years
- E-File past year originals and corrections to the IRS
Past year programs must never be used to e-File to the IRS because the IRS e-File formats change each year. Installing past year programs will also NOT recover your data from an old computer or give the location of your data. These programs will not work with pre-printed, red-lined IRS Copy A Forms.
