1099 Express can import IRS style files created by other programs by clicking the FILE menu the "Open IRS File".

These data files are sometimes called by different names. They are often called:

• Publication 1220 files
  
• 750 byte per record file
  
• IRS1
  
• IRSCor1

1099 Express can open any of these files by clicking the FILE menu then "Open IRS File".

Only certain forms can be opened in this way. These include 1099-Miscellaneous, 1099-Interest, 1098 Mortgage, 1099 Dividend, 1099-OID, 5498_IRA, W-2G and possibly others including 1098-Patr. Other forms can be opened in this manner, but may not gather all information. Certain other forms will work under some conditions, please contact us for more information.
