In April 2004, the IRS created a new F.I.R.E. system which is a web site on the internet, instead of a direct phone call by modem. The advantages of the New FIRE system are ease of use and very high speed uploads. The new FIRE system, requires a newer browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 5.5 or later, with certain security capabilities. To determine if your browser will work, just get on the internet and to to the IRS web site below. The SSA web site for W-2 uploads has been up and running for several years.
