Question: Can I handle previous years?
Answer: Yes. Close any file you may be working on. Then
click on the Options/Set Year Menu.
Question: Where can I get envelopes and what kind should be used. What about paper?
Answer: Please click here for more information on envelopes
and paper.
Question: What E-Mail address is used to contact 1099Express.com?
Answer: Please use
Sales@1099Express.com or RCMinerJr@aol.com.
Please see Contact Us.
Question: How do I carry last years data files forward to this year?
Answer: Please click
here for last years data.
Question: How do I get the new program upgrade?
Answer: There is no "Upgrade".
Everybody gets the same new program. The price is just cheaper the second and
subsequent years. Just go to www.1099Express.com
and click the DOWNLOADS link. Then, download and install the program you need.
When downloading, choose "Run" or "Open" instead of "Save" for easier
installation. If you see "Security Warning", click YES to continue.
All programs are initially installed in demo mode. After purchase of the
program, your activation code converts the program from demo to full-function.
Get your activation code at
www.1099Express.com/GetCode.asp
Question: I don't like Credit Card purchases. How do I purchase by check?
Answer: Please mail us a check for the product you want (see
PRICES for correct product
and price). Include a note indicating your name, company, address, phone, fax
and E-Mail. When you check is received, we will respond with
instructions to get your activation code. Please make check payable to NetSoft
Marketing, Inc., 209 Louisiana Avenue, Corpus Christi, TX 78404. Alternatively,
contact us, and we will prepare an invoice. We do not
provide an activation code until we receive your actual check. For a immediate
activation code, please purchase by credit card.
Question: Can you mail a CD-ROM to me?
Answer: Yes. Click
here to order. However, there is a
shipping and handling charge of $15.00. The $15.00 shipping and handling charge
does not buy a license. You must still purchase a license and obtain an
activation code. There is no shipping and handling charge when you download the
software. There is no advantage to the CD-ROM because it contains exact copies
of the same programs and files you can download at our web site. The
CD-ROM is not updated as often as our web site, and may not contain the latest
software.
Question: I'm worried about a virus, so I want a CD-ROM!
Answer: Ok. Click
here to order a CD-ROM. However, if you are
worried about viruses a CD-ROM won't help. If, hypothetically, our files were
contaminated with a virus, you would get the same virus from the CD-ROM anyway, since
it is an exact copy of the download files. We scan all files with Norton
Antivirus and take all precautions to avoid viruses. A solution to the virus
worry would be to download and "Save to Disk", (your hard drive is a
disk). Then you could scan the file yourself with Norton Antivirus, before you
start the install. After the install
creates the files, scan the .exe files (executable programs) again with a virus
program. However, keep in mind that we have already done this for you.
Question: Do I need last years password? Do I need last years computer
or software?
Answer: No.1099Express is a completely new program, which is
installed into a new folder each year. For example, the folder for 2006 is
C:\E2006 There is no "upgrade".
The program does not need your program from last year. It does needs a new
activation code each year. The no longer use the term "password" or "unlock
code". Instead we call it the "activation" code, a more descriptive and correct
term.
Question: How do I pay for the program and when do I get my activation code?
Answer:
The activation code is provided after payment is made. Customers may:
1. Pay by credit card online at www.1099Express.com.
Click where it says "ORDER" or "PRICES". You will then
see a web page with instructions.
2. Pay by credit
card by calling 361 884-1500 and get your activation code immediately.
3. Pay by
check. If paying by check please send us an e-mail so we can reply with an
invoice. Please send your company name, contact name, a mailing address, and an
e-mail, phone and fax.
Question: Do you have a network version, and if so what is the cost?
Answer:
1099Express will work on a network. The cost for multiple users is explained at Prices.
Each installation on a network computer must be registered.
1099Express can open or save files from and to network drives. It can print on
network printers, and access networked CD-ROMs or other devices, such as zip
drives. However, 2 or more users should not be updating the same file at the
same time. For example, assume a server holds 1099 data files called JanesList
and BobsList. Jane can open and view BobsList anytime. Bob can open and view
JanesList anytime. But neither should change or save the other persons data file
while the other person is working on changes. When filing1099s with the IRS it
is not necessary to combine the data files. See FAQ below about multiple
files from the same company.
Question: Our company has several accounting centers and each has a file of
1099-Misc. Should these files be combined into one big file for sending
to the IRS?
Answer: No, it is not necessary. Multiple files from the same
company under the same Tax Identification Number are acceptable to the IRS.
Also, it is not necessary to combine payees in a file. For example, contractor
John Doe was paid for 5 jobs by 2 different company arms. It's OK if he gets 3
1099-Misc from one group and 2 1099-Misc from another group of the same
company.
Question: I forgot the name of last years 1099 data files. How can I
find them?
Answer: Start last years1099Express program. Click on the File Menu. Choose
RE-OPEN. Files for 200x are normally in the yellow folder called c:\E200x,
but may have been saved elsewhere, such as a network drive.
